Nikon release cable

In order to do some long exposures and tripod work, I needed a cable release for my X100S. There are no electronic shutter releases for this camera, instead you use and old school, mechanical cable that physically presses the shutter button. I got another cable of a different brand first but it broke after just a few times of being used. Hopefully this one will hold up better.

There really is no reason to get a cable release like this if your camera hasĀ other ways of being triggered remotely, unless you’re trying to find the cheapest way of doing it. However, it’s kind of a nice feeling to do things mechanically in today’s digital world.
